Hunt County Courthouse

“Completed in 1929, our current courthouse is the last of six built in Greenville, Texas since 1885”

In April of 2003, the Tax Assessor-Collector relocated the Hunt County Tax Office to its current location across the street from the Hunt County Courthouse. The Tax Office occupies the entire lower level of the eight-story Paul Mathews Exchange Building.

This move not only facilitated the need of space for the expanding courts in the courthouse, but permitted easier access for the taxpayers conducting business with the Tax Office in that they are now provided two drive-thru lanes for payment of property taxes and motor vehicle registration transactions, as well as night deposit facilities for after hours deposits.

The Tax Assessor-Collector of Hunt County collects for all of the twenty-five taxing jurisdictions within the county. Dedication to our goal to provide as much assistance to the taxpayer and general public alike, have contributed to our county as being respected as one of the most innovative across the state.
